Melania Trump has won a substantial amount of money after a. Logger she sued for defamation agreed to settle.

“The first lady of the United States has settled her lawsuit against Webster Griffin Tarpley of Maryland,” said Matthew Blackett, one of Melania’s attorneys.

“Mr. Tarpley has issued the attached retraction and apology to Mrs. Trump and her family, and agreed to pay her a substantial sum as a settlement,” Blackett said in a statement.

In his statement obtained by the Post, Tarpley said he posted an article “replete with false and defamatory statements” about Melania without any “legitimate factual basis” and apologized to the first lady.

The settlement comes less than two weeks after Montgomery County Circuit Judge Sharon Burrell rejected arguments by Tarpley’s lawyers that the suit should be dismissed, the Wrap reported.

The blogger had published false information about Melania being an escort. He admitted in the settlement that this comments were made with no “factual basis.”

Mrs. Trump now sets her sights on the British publisher Mail Online.

First Lady Melania Trump is suing a British newspaper, saying a defamatory article it later retracted deprived her of the chance to launch a lucrative brand of clothing, shoes, jewelry and perfume.

The $150 million suit against the publisher of the Daily Mail accused the London tabloid of causing “tremendous harm” to her reputation and making it almost impossible to take advantage of “major business opportunities” available “for a multi-year term during which plaintiff is one of the most photographed women in the world.”

President Donald Trump’s spouse says she has a “unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” to “launch a broad-based commercial brand in multiple product categories.” Melania Trump also claims she could have sold “apparel, accessories, shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, hair care, skin care and fragrance.”

Mrs Trump is being maligned by liberals that claim here lawsuit raises ethical questions about profiting from her position as First Lady.
