Another illegal alien involved in a violent crime. Today it’s out of Fayetteville Arkansas. Geovanny Perez-Cruz was charged with capital murder and carrying a firearm.
At least we know where he’ll be headed soon. Back to his country of origin where he should have been his entire life.
FAYETTEVILLE, AR – A Springdale man pleaded guilty Thursday in Washington County Circuit Court to first-degree battery for shooting a man outside a Wal-Mart in October.
Geovanny Perez-Cruz, 18, was sentenced to 20 years at the Arkansas Department of Correction.
Perez-Cruz was charged with attempted capital murder and carrying a weapon. He was ordered to have no contact with the man and was given credit for jail time served since Oct. 11.
The charge was reduced to battery and the weapon charge was dropped as part of the plea bargain.
Perez-Cruz shot Daniel Luna, 25, of Springdale in the upper arm outside the Wal-Mart on Elm Springs Road the night of Oct. 9.
Perez-Cruz and Luna were acquaintances, according to police.
An argument between the two began in the store and moved outside to the parking lot, police said. The argument escalated to Perez-Cruz shooting Luna.
Luna was treated and released at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Prosecutors said the gun jammed or Luna may have been shot multiple times.
