I wrote an opinion piece a couple months back entitled, “Please Donald, keep Ivanka away from policy decisions.” The thrust of the article was centered on how Ivanka’s ideology is not aligned with the Trump movement. The Syrian air strikes proved to be more evidence for that claim.

Brother Eric Trump details how it was most likely Ivanka that persuaded her father to act on Syria.

Via The Telegraph:

Eric Trump has said he is “sure” his sister Ivanka used her influence over their father to encourage the US president to launch military action against Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

Donald Trump ordered air strikes against a Syrian air base last Thursday night in response to a chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime on Tuesday that killed at least 87 people including more than 30 children.

“Ivanka is a mother of three kids and she has influence. I’m sure she said: ‘Listen, this is horrible stuff,’” Eric Trump told the Telegraph.

“My father will act in times like that. And by the way, he was anti doing anything with Syria two years ago. Then a leader gasses their own people, women and children. At some point America is the global leader and the world’s superpower has to come forward and act and they did with a lot of support of our allies and I think that’s a great thing.”

One can understand a father wanting to be open to his childrens’s, particularly his daughters, emotional opinions. But it MUST NOT shape policy or military decisions.

Currently there is a war brewing in the White House for control over President Trump’s favor. It’s team Ivanka/Jared vs Bannon/Priebus. One side represents the Trump movement. The other represents Rockefeller-NY liberal values. They both cannot co-exist.

Jared Kurshner and Ivanka Trump must be given limted roles and stay away from military strategy. The direction of “Trumpism” depends on it.
